Briefing leadership on assist channels without overselling the story
Language that keeps assist credit honest when leadership still expects a simple ranking of winners.
Leadership often wants a short list of winners. Assist channels complicate that wish. A durable briefing shows closing credit and assist credit on the same page, then states the decision you recommend for the next cycle. Avoid claiming that every assist “caused” the conversion; say that the journey included these contacts and that removing them would change the path you can currently observe.
Use one regional example in detail rather than ten thin charts. Walk the room through a Northeast journey and a Bangkok journey side by side. Invite one challenge—“What if offline events are overstated?”—and answer with the gap list from your review.
End with a bounded ask: a percentage shift, a test window, or a hold on one channel while you repair tracking. Assist stories earn trust when they stay modest and tied to the markets the managers in the room actually run.
